As you read the meditation, you can follow along and do the exercises rather than closing your eyes for the session. You can read the steps for the guided meditation below, ask someone to read it for you and guide you as you sit with your yes closed, or listen to the video via the link provided below. Before the easy to follow directions, a reason for the meditation is concisely given. Most are 10-15 minutes. No expectation is given for lengthy sessions. Instead, the author offers a time from as little as 5 minutes (a whole chapter that I’m using mid day) to as long as 30 minutes if you’d like.

Perhaps that meditation isn’t for you because you can’t stop all your thoughts. But that is exactly what meditation is supposed to be. Place the raisin gently into your mouth, without yet chewing. Hold the raisin in your mouth forat least 10 seconds, exploring it with your tongue , feeling the sensations of having it there. Notice this pause and how it feels to take some time before eating the raisin. When you are ready, prepare to chew the raisin.
